Abstract

ABSTRACT Wiradana, Krisna Yuda. 2023. Potential of Rice Waste and Cow Manure as Biogas Producers. Thesis. S1. Environmental Health Study Program. Widyagama Husada College of Health Sciences. Malang. Indonesia is a country that is rich of energy resources and has high potential energy sources, one of which is in the field of animal husbandry. However, so far it has not been fully developed. This is because many farms in Indonesia in processing livestock products and waste still use traditional methods which technology is not optimal. Energy utilization in the form of biogas is an alternative to the use of renewable energy sources that are environmentally friendly. The purpose of this study is to determine the potential biogas yield contained in a mixture of rice waste and cow dung. This research was pure experimental research conducted by measuring the production of biogas produced from a mixture of rice waste and cow dung. The research method used was a comparative approach. The research design in the experiment was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) in 7 treatments, namely: P1 (100%+0%), P2 (0%+100%), P3 (70%+30%), P4 (30%+70%), P5: rice waste (40%) + cow dung (40%) + EM4 (20%), P6: rice waste (80%) + cow dung (0%) + EM4 (20%), P7: rice waste (0%) + cow dung (80%) + EM4 (20%). The results of the study shows that the highest methane gas production occurs in the treatment 2 off 6227 µmol/mol on the 7 , and the treatment 5 off 2217 µmol/mol on the 14 th th and it flames for 5 seconds. It can be concluded that rice waste and cow dung have the potential to produce biogas. References : 22 References (2012-2021) Keywords : biogas, cow manure, rice waste. vi
