ABSTRACT Rosely, Brian Sesar. 2018. Factors Affecting Anxiety in Yellow Label Triage P2 Patients in the Emergency Department of Bangil Regional Public Hospital. Thesis. (2) Ns.Abdul Qodir, S.Kep., M.Kep Background: Triage is a system for selecting patients at the Emergency Department based on their severity. Triage is divided into 4 categories, P1, P2, P3 and P4/P0. The process of treatment in the Emergency Department often neglect the mental aspects, which finally lead to variety of psychological problems for patients, one of which is anxiety. Patients with P2 category often experience problems with anxiety. The anxiety experienced is usually related to the new environment, the procedure of treatment and also the pain experienced. Objective: Analyze the factors that influence anxiety in patients with yellow Label P2 triage category. Method: This research used observational design with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a research instrument in the form of STAI anxiety questionnaire. The number of respondents were 83 people according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The statistical test used was chi-square and to find out the most influential factors on anxiety, it was used logistic regression analysis. Result: Among 83 respondents, the majority experienced anxiety, that was 62 respondents (74.7%). In logistic regression analysis, it was found that the most influential factor on anxiety was nurse communication (p=0,000). OR value was 12,600 and the probability of patients to experience anxiety due to less effective nurse communication was 93%. Suggestion: Nurses are suggested to improve services for patients without ignoring the psychological aspects, namely by improving the nurse's therapeutic communication skills.
