Abstract
ABSTRACT Hana, Majiyatul. 2021. The Accuracy of Selection of Antihypertensive Drugs in Lowering Blood Pressure in Hypertensive Patients with Concomitant Diabetes Mellitus at the Dinoyo Health Center, Malang City. Thesis. Nursing Education Study Program, Widyagama Husada College of Health, Malang. Supervisor: (1) Ns. Nurma Afiani, S.Kep. M.Kep (2) Ns. Ari Damayanti W., S.Kep. M.Kep. Background : Hypertension is an abnormal increase in blood pressure in the arteries continuously over a period of time. Patients with hypertension need accuracy in treatment so that they can lower their blood pressure. Destination : determine the accuracy of the selection of antihypertensive drugs in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients with comorbidities of diabetes mellitus at the Dinoyo Public Health Center, Malang City. Method :Analytical Survey Method using a cross sectional approach on 68 hypertensive patients. The data collection technique used a purposive sampling approach in June 2021. The instruments used were checklists and sphygmomanometers. The hypothesis test used is Chi-square. Result: The majority of blood pressure fell into the lower category of 41 respondents (60.3%) with the accuracy of choosing the right category of antihypertensive drugs as many as 42 respondents (61.8%). The results of the Chi square test obtained p = 0.001 so that it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the accuracy of the selection of antihypertensive drugs in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients with comorbidities of diabetes mellitus. Suggestion : It is hoped that further researchers can measure pre blood pressure directly.
