Background: Hypertension is the most common non-contagious disease in the world. Hypertension is a condition of blood pressure that is above normal, namely systolic 140 mmHg and diastolic 90 mmHg. Excessive salt intake can cause edema, ascites, and hypertension due to disturbances in the body's fluid balance. The goal of a low-salt diet is to support lowering blood pressure and maintain blood pressure toward normal. Objective: To find out the correlation between a low-salt diet and changes in blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Methods: The study used literature studies with search engines/databases used were Google Scholar and Science Direct in the last 10 years in Indonesian and English with keywords in the search that match the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Findings: The results of the literature review related to the correlation between a low-salt diet and changes in blood pressure in hypertensive patients indicated that 10 articles (100%) concluded that a low-salt diet had an effect on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Conclusion: There is a correlation between a low-salt diet and changes in blood pressure in hypertensive patients.
