vi ABSTRACT Wati, Fifi Ratna. (2021). The Relatinship Between Compliance With Antihypertensive Drug Consumption And Quality Of Life Of Patients With Hypertension And Diabetes Mellitus At The Dinoyo Public Health Center Malang. Thesis. (2) Abdul Qodir., S.Kep., Ners., M.Kep Background : Hypertension with comorbidities is a high cause of death in the world. The disease that often accompanies hypertension is diabetes mellitus. Both diseases are chronic diseases that cannot be cured and require lifelong treatment. In patients with hypertension accompanied by diabetes mellitus can have an impact on their health, for that it is necessary to comply with treatment in order to minimize the impact so that it can affect the quality of life. Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between adherence to antihypertensive consumption and the quality of life of hypertensive patients with diabetes mellitus. Method : This research method uses a quantitative method with a cross sectional approach which was carried out on 65 respondents with hypertension with comorbidities of diabetes mellitus at the Dinoyo Public Health Center, Malang City. Data collection techniques were carried out by providing research instruments in the form of compliance questionnaires and quality of life questionnaires which were then tested using SPSS with the type of Kendall's Tau-b test. Result : The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between adherence to antihypertensive drug consumption and quality of life in hypertensive patients with co-morbidities of diabetes mellitus (p=0,000). Of the 65 respondents, 11 people (31,4%) with low adherence had a low quality of life, 22 people (62,8%) had a moderate quality of life, 2 people (5,7%) had a hight quality of life. 9 people (30,9%) with moderate adherence had a moderate quality of life and 21 people (70%) with moderate adherence had a moderate quality of life. Conclusion : The conclusion is that there is a significant relationship between adherence to antihypertensive drug consumption and quality of life in hypertensive patients with co-morbidities of diabetes mellitus (p=0.000). The more obedient a person is in taking antihypertensive drugs, the more negative effects on health can be minimized thereby improving the quality of life.
