Dr. Rudy Jogiejantoro, MMRS The problems studied in this research are derived from the level of poisoning based on the cholinesterase examination on the farmers in East Java province covering 9 regencies they are Pasuruan, Probolinggo, Bondowoso, Nganjuk, Blitar, Tulungagung, Ponorogo, Ngawi and Pacitan. On examination of cholinestrase to farmers who do spraying and plantation work, showed that 42.6% of the farmers had been poisoned and one of the villages in the city of Malang regency got the number of pesticide poisoning reached 95.8%. Objective of the study was to gain description of pesticide exposure to apple farmers in Gubugklakah Village. This type of research used observational research method with cross sectional approach. The population in this study was an apple farm group consisted of 65 people in Gubugklakah Village with 39 samples of farmers. The instruments used in this study were the observation sheet and the questionnaire. Result of the research indicated that during pesticide mixing process, there were many farmers in Gubugklakah Village who did not follow the instruction, most of spraying were performed well by following wind direction and spraying frequency was medium, that was twice a week maximum. Spraying was delivered in the morning when the temperature was so hot. The working hours of farmers at the time of spraying was less than 8 hours in average, around 5 am until 8 am. The farmer years of service was more than 5 years. Due to the improper use of pesticide, it is necessary to give supervision and training for farmers from Departement of Agriculture and related health services.
