Abstract
ABSTRACT Madik, Armelinda Rambu. 2017. Evaluation of Liquid Waste Management System at Regional General Hospital Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang City East Java Province. Thesis. S1 Environmental Health Study Program Of Widyagama Husada School Of Health Malang. Advisors: (1). Dr. Rudy Joegijantoro, MMRS., (2). Irfany Rupiwardani, SE., MMRS. Waste water from hospital is the one of a potential source of water pollution. Based on the 2002 assesment data by Directorate General of P2MPL of the Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation involving District and Municipal Health Office on the pollutant content present in the waste water, the impact and volume of waste generated and the low efficiency of the hospital's waste water treatment installation (IPAL) in Indonesia, therefore the hospital waste water need to be processed with appropriate processing technology. Based on preliminary study about the result of liquid waste water output analysis in Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang it was obtained that it has high levels of BOD that do not meet the demand of environmental quality standard. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the liquid of waste management system at the RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang City East Java Province. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with the number of informants were 8 people. The instruments used were observation sheet and interview guide. The results obtained were about the evaluation of liquid waste management system from input to output. In the process of input and stages of liquid waste management process has been in accordance with the regulations that have been set by Kepmenkes no 1204 in 2004 about environmental health requirements in the hospital. In the output process, the laboratory test results of the waste water samples of all parameters were below the threshold value except for two parameters namely NH3 and Phenol which exceeded the threshold value that had been set. The researcher concluded that liquid waste management system in RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang is fully adequate both in terms of input, process and output but there are some systems that do not work maximally. The advice given to hospitals is to routinely check waste inlets, facilities and infrastructure, plan further processing, and recruit additional human resources.
