Abstract

ABSTRACT Lailiyah, Fadhilatul. 2021. Analysis of Factors Related to Improving Health Behavior in Hypertensive Patients at Dinoyo Public Health Center, Malang City. Undergraduate Thesis. Background: Hypertension is still a serious health threat to people around the world. Health behavior in hypertensive patients can affect one's blood pressure control, one's health behavior can be influenced by several factors such as age, gender, knowledge, education level and length of suffering from hypertension. Objectives: Analyzed the factors associated with improving health behavior in hypertensive patients at the Dinoyo Public Health Center, Malang City. Research Method: The research design used cross sectional. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling as many as 72 respondents, according to the inclusion characteristics: patients with hypertension, patients with a history of hypertension, aged 20-65 years, patients fully conscious. Chi-square statistical test, using the HP-LP II questionnaire to measure health behavior, and the HKLS questionnaire to measure the knowledge of hypertension in adults. Findings: Consisting of univariate analysis and bivariate analysis, the results of univariate analysis were 72 respondents who carried out health behavior in the good category 56 respondents (77.8%), including in the middle age category, age range 41-65 years, 68 respondents (94, 4%), many respondents are female 47 respondents (65.3%), respondents who have good knowledge 56 respondents (77.8%), respondents included in the basic education category 48 respondents (66.7%), respondents who included in the long-standing hypertension category 67 respondents (93.1%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship (age, gender and duration of hypertension) with an increase in health behavior (p-value 0.357; 0.128; 0.273). There is a significant relationship (knowledge and education level) with an increase in health behavior (p-value 0.033; 0.001). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge and level of education with an increase in health behavior, there are 3 variables that have no relationship between age, gender, duration of suffering from hypertension with an increase in health behavior. Suggestion: Can carry out health promotion by counseling about the analysis of factors and prevention of hypertension that can be done by the community and arrange strategies for handling hypertension by activating community health center cadres by conducting early screening.
